The 1st Intergalactic Fleet, colloquially known as the Falcon Fleet, is the official fraction of Starfleet dedicated to the peaceful exploration and, if needed, armed defense of the Federation Expansion.
Overview
The 1st Intergalactic Fleet was officially designated as a subfleet of the 19th Fleet, one of the fleets which had taken the lightest impacts during the Dominion War. Named the Falcon Fleet in a response to the U.S.S. Explorer, the Fleet had to deal with constant pirate attacks. At any time, the fleet numbered from forty to eighty starships, with hundreds of shuttles and mid-range vessels.
History
The 1st Intergalactic Fleet was formed shortly after the Federation Expansion was approved.

Falcon fleet…don't ask why they're called that… And no the above is not a full list of ships. The Bondar is canon though, so that's neat(and in case anyone is wondering, it's named after a canadian astronaut, not superglue. Zon hates the Excelsior Class doesn't he?
